Pastor Bill Vaughn called me last Saturday to ask if I could preach for him on Sunday, January 28th.  The church where we had been scheduled for that date cancelled, and I had wondered if the Lord would give to us an open door for that day.  Brother Vaughn's call came like a voice from heaven.  Shirley and I will travel on Saturday, January 27th, from Simpsonville, SC, to Vass, NC, where I will preach both services on Sunday, the 28th.  Highland Baptist Church is located on U.S. Highway 1, as you head north out of Pinehurst.  Sunday School is at 10 a.m., the morning Worship service at 11.  Sunday night service at 6 p.m.  The focus is Missions that Sunday.  Pray for the services; pray for us as we travel.  Shirley's cancer is increasing in its activity.  The count they check by her blood to monitor the cancer has climbed to over 6,400 as of the 11th of January, 2018.  The oncologist desires that number to be under 100.  It was 67 back in April of 2017; but, it has been accelerating by leaps and bounds since then.   God knows my wife's needs; he knows my needs; and, he knows our needs as we continue to travel for Christ.  We praise the Lord that he is always faithful!
