Thank you for your prayers regarding my wife, Shirley Huntley Hughes. She fought a long, hard battle with cancer, and died from complications on November 2, 2018. On behalf of my family, we thank the funeral director and his staff (Fletcher Funeral Services, Fountain Inn, SC) for their kind and professional care.
The main funeral service was held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Greenville, SC, on Tuesday, November 6th, and was streamed live. A second service was held that afternoon at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church in Fletcher, NC, where her body was placed beside her father’s grave. We thank the pastors and their staffs for their kindness and their help.
I thank all of you who took the time to travel and to attend. It was a blessing to see you there. The crowd was amazing to me, and I know that many others were not able to attend due to various obligations. Shirley spent 20-plus wonderful years teaching at Tabernacle Christian Schools during the day and Tabernacle Baptist College in the evening while we lived in Greenville, SC.
The Lord has graciously opened a door in which to minister the Word of God this coming Sunday, November 11th. It is in Pelion, SC, at the Wayside Baptist Tabernacle. I will be preaching both the morning and the evening services, the Lord willing.
Please pray for me as I begin to travel again. Things are very different. God bless you.
